With fall about done and winter fast approaching I find myself asking this question, "Are we getting the job done!" My current answer is "I think not!" Why not you ask, it is simple, we are not a plus for the association in active members, we are not on target to signing new member applications, all of the lodges do not have a full board of officers. Before I address those issues I must tell you about a story I read in another association's newsletter. It went like this -"A young girl and her Mom were walking along a country road when they saw a huge tree branch. The girl asked, do you think I could move that branch? Her mother answered, If you use all of your strength, I'm sure you can. The girl tried with all of her might, but she could not move it. Discouraged, she said Mom you were wrong. I can't do it. Try again, said the mother. This time, as the girl struggled with the branch, her mother joined her and together they pushed the branch aside. Daughter, the mother said, the first time you didn't use all of your strength. You didn't ask me to help"
With that being said let's address these one at a time:

Greetings, and Welcome from State President Glenn Achter
Greetings, and welcome to the Wisconsin Moose Association Webpage.
I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Glenn Achter, a member of Green Bay Lodge 801, and my wife, Margaret, is a member of Green Bay Chapter 451. We have been members of the Moose Fraternity since 1997, and are strong supporters of the programs and fraternalism offered by our organization. It is an honor to have been elected President of the Wisconsin Moose Association for this 2013-14 year, and I realize we have a big task ahead of us these next months, as there are lodges out there not doing what they can and should be doing in the area of member retention. see more
